Latter day Saints:
Mormon missionaries first arrived in Peru in 1956. In 1981, the Lima Peru Temple was dedicated.
The church has seen rapid growth in Peru. In 2008 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints claimed more than 460,000 members in Peru.There is currently only one LDS temple in Peru, located at La Molina in Lima. However, Church leaders announced the building of a second temple in Trujillo on December 13, 2008.
